More than half of the rodeos held the first week of the 2020 season featured six-figure payouts, and ProRodeo athletes cashed in by making the fastest runs and highest scores of the week.

Collectively, the nine rodeos held Oct. 1-6 were worth $970,029 – $811,955 of which stemmed from the following:

RAM Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo, Minot, N.D. – $199,000
RAM California Circuit Finals Rodeo in Lancaster, Calif. – $188,479
RAM Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo in Prescott Valley, Ariz. – $181,895
Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo in Rosenberg, Texas – $131,294
Waller County Fair & Rodeo in Hempstead, Texas – $111,287

The fastest times and highest scores might not always make the record book, but they make a lasting memory for fans and competitors. With more than 700 PRCA competitions across the Western Hemisphere each year, there are plenty of opportunities to make a memorable ride.

Although the prize money differs from one competition to the next, the judging remains consistent across the board.

In addition to the fame that comes with winning the most prize money, each ride was a chance to be the best of the week. Here’s a look at the highest scores and fastest times for each event Oct. 1-6.

Bareback rider Jamie Howlett posted an 88.5-point ride on Championship Pro Rodeo's Blessed Day in Minot, Oct. 5.

Steer wrestler Eli Lord made a 3.5-second run in Minot, Oct. 4.

Team ropers Dustin Egusquiza and Jake Long stopped the clock in 3.7 seconds at the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo in Waco, Oct. 6. The Waco rodeo is ongoing through Oct. 12.
