Won the saddle bronc riding at the Nacogdoches (Texas) Pro Rodeo & Steer Show, the Cotton Blossom Roundup (Nashville, Ga.) and the Georgia (Perry) National Rodeo. Co-champion at the Hugo (Okla.) • 2018: Won the all-around, saddle bronc riding and bull riding at the Rotary Rodeo (Starkville, Miss.) and the Auto Plaza Group PRCA Regional Rodeo (Farmington, Mo.). Won the all-around at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo (Hayward, Calif.) and the Dixie National Rodeo (Jackson, Miss.). Finished 47th in the world standings with $31,106
• 2017: Won the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup Rodeo, 
the Wrangler Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots (Redding, Calif.), the Wrangler Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots (Santa Maria, Calif.), the Santa Maria (Calif.) Elks Rodeo and the Meridian (Idaho) Lions Rodeo. Co-champion at the Colorado (Pueblo) State Fair & Rodeo. Finished 21st in the world standings with $67,955
• 2016: Won Round 3, co-champion of Round 7, and placed in the first seven consecutive rounds to rank first at the Wrangler NFR. Climbed from 15th to third in the world standings with $272,365. Won Rodeo Austin (Texas), the Gem State Stampede Xtreme Bulls (Coeur D Alene, Idaho), the Home of Champions Rodeo (Red Lodge, Mont.) and the Harrison (Ark.) PRCA Rodeo. Won the all-around and bull riding at the Moses Lake (Wash.) • 2013: Won Round 1 of the Wrangler NFR with an 89-point ride on Rafter H Rodeo’s News Flash and Round 2 with another 89-pointer on New Frontier Rodeo’s Squirrel Grove on his way to finishing third in the average and moving from 10th place to fourth in the final world standings with $148,575. Won the all-around and bull riding at the Redding (Calif.) Rodeo; the St. Paul (Ore.) Rodeo; the Cody (Wyo.) Stampede and the Georgia National Junior Livestock Show & Rodeo (Perry, Ga.). Won the Horse Heaven Round-Up Rodeo (Kennewick, Wash.) and the Old Fort Days Rodeo (Fort Smith, Ark.). Won the saddle bronc riding at the Asheville ProRodeo (Fletcher, N.C.). Co-champion at the Indiantown (Fla.) Rodeo
• 2012: Won Rounds 8 and 10 and placed in Round 3 of the Wrangler NFR to finish fourth in the average. Won the Sisters (Ore.) Rodeo with a 91-point ride that tied the arena record. Won the California Rodeo Salinas; the Lawton (Okla.) Rangers Rodeo; the Horse Heaven Round-Up (Kennewick, Wash.); the Canby (Ore.) Rodeo; the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho); the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls and the New England Wild West Fest (Marshfield, Mass.). Won the all-around and was co-champion in saddle bronc riding and bull riding at Lowry’s 4L Ranch Rodeo (Summerville, Ga.). Finished sixth in the world standings with $145,871
• 2011: Placed in five rounds of the Wrangler NFR to rank fourth in the average on his way to his first world championship and finished with $238,249. Was injured on the 10th night when he was stepped on by the bull and suffered a broken left arm. Won the year-end national title of the Seminole Hard Rock Xtreme Bulls Tour. Won the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo; the 115th Cheyenne (Wyo.) Frontier Days Rodeo; the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls (Cody, Wyo.); the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.); the Lewiston (Idaho) Roundup; the Horse Heaven Round-up (Kennewick, Wash.); the Kitsap County Fair & Stampede (Bremerton, Wash.); the all-around and the saddle bronc riding at the Franklin (Tenn.) Won the 2008 Toughest Cowboy reality television competition, earning $35,000 and the Jager Ranch, a 36.5-acre parcel of land near Pueblo, Colo.

Qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo three times in bull riding and twice each in bareback riding and saddle bronc riding. Twice qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in 2004-05, finishing in the top 12 in all three roughstock events in 2005


5-8, 165 … Wife, Haley (Ganzel) Proctor is a two-time PRCA dress act top five … Parents, Gordon and Kathy Proctor, are both teachers at Lake Roosevelt High School (Coulee Dam, Wash.) and both are lifetime ropers; sisters, Cody and Kaycee Ferguson … All three Proctor siblings graduated from Lake Roosevelt High (Shane in 2003) … Would like to work as a rodeo coach when his competition days are over … Nicknamed “Dr. Proctor” after he was knocked unconscious during a college rodeo and the announcer said, “Someone get a doctor for Proctor” … Underwent shoulder surgery in January 2014 and missed the first half of the season … Worked for a log home building company in Cody, Wyo., for three years after college, and also did some substitute teaching … Featured in ESPN The Magazine’s 2009 special issue on athletes’ bodies and appeared on Fox-TV’s Best Damn Sports Show … Has competed in rodeos in 48 of the 50 states, including Hawaii and Alaska … Started in junior rodeo at age 5
